Once again, I was rivited to every story in this book. I bought it originally for the Susan Powell story. And then I seized the story of Rebecca Zahau's death at the Spreckles Mansion on Coronado Island, CA, was the next story. Having lived much of my life in San Diego, Rebecca's death grabbed my attention very early on. I am still convinced Rebecca was murdered, and I wonder if the higher ups were bought off in some way. The story of the military rapist at Mt Rainer, WA, was very intriguing and I was glad to read that he was caught. The final story of little Wendy tore my heart out. I have lived in military bases/posts and always believed them to be a safe environment. How wrong I was.I have long been a fan of Ann's books and I still mourn the fact she is no longer with us. No one could write a true crime story like she could. However, I plan to try her daughter Leslie Rule's new book next. Am sure I won't regret it!
