My wife Beryl and I started to attend Church some 55 years ago. The people there were friendly and loving but it was another seventeen years before I really began to understand what Christianity was all about. Even when we eventually entered full time Christian ministry as pastors, the question, “there must be more to church than this” was always in the back of our minds.‘Eyes Closed Eyes Opened’ is the story of our journey and how our eyes have become opened to the truth of God’s word and His desire to bring healing and prepare His future Bride. The instruction given by Jesus to the apostle Paul was to ‘open eyes so that people may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God’ (Acts 26:18).When someone becomes a believer, their spiritual eyes are opened. However, if we fail to teach and apply the full gospel in our churches or ministries, we effectively close the eyes of believers. We become a barrier to them receiving the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing Jesus has made available. It is a case of eyes closed, eyes opened, and then eyes closed, or partially closed, to God’s truth.In writing ‘Eyes Closed Eyes Opened’, my hope is that spiritual eyes will be opened to life-changing scriptures that are sometimes glossed over and made to sound unimportant and will help readers identify truths which may have become blurred, or are even blind spots in their life. I pray that church leaders will gain new insights and understanding that will help them to encourage their congregations to receive healing, be equipped and become effective disciples for Jesus.I believe the powerful testimonies included in this book illustrate God’s desire and ability to bring healing and will be a great encouragement to readers to seek God’s destiny and purpose for their lives.
